He came to reply one last time, so this is my final statement; I didn't read him, and it is not a reply TO him. I will not waste another second arguing bigotry that tries to disguise itself as some kind of logical argument.

Love is love. Polyamory is romance. $20 to get cucked is a steal.
Dev reply: As you probably guessed glancing over this review, this man is a bigot against polyamory. Instead of owning it and going about his day, he's spent a month intent on accidentally proving both that he's a bigot and that he managed to ignore all the times the game insisted that it was headed this way and that the player isn't meant to inhabit any of the characters, mad that his bigoted arguments failed to convince anyone that he is not, in fact, a bigot. "Pay 20$ to get cucked", "where are my content warnings for polyamory", "having polyamory at the end is like making me swallow molten wax" and "imagine the heartbreak if you were gay and the male character ended up with a woman after he spent most of the story with a man" are incredible arguments and they don't deserve to be forgotten. I cannot sell my game more enthusiastically than he did in the original review, so I'm writing this as a dev response in case he locks his comments and makes them disappear again from view. I have no plan to keep replying to him as if he had any salient points to debate if he makes them available again, so I simply hope you all enjoy the molten polyamory wax in the game if you give it a go.

Let's say you're playing a game or reading a story with a 1 on 1 M/M romance. It progresses basically how you would expect it to for 80% of the story, and then at the end the protag suddenly forgets about the dude he's had all this romantic buildup with for the whole story and gets with a woman, turning it into a M/F story. Disliking this turn, especially if you're a gay dude who's into reading M/M stories, doesn't mean that you hate women or thing straight people are bad or anything. That's just a nasty thing to get hit in the face with suddenly, flat out. It's annoying. It's disappointing. It feels bad. That's it, it doesn't run deeper. There is a scene in chapter 3, in the beach, where Sep says, word for word, "I will always take others, this will never be exclusive" and Ader says "That just means you'll be keeping the bed real warm for me" before telling her he loves her I am not talking about any jokes, but a very serious scene. Did you miss it entirely, by refusing to read the Diary? Did you pretend it wasn't there? Perhaps you took it as a joke, somehow? I have no way of knowing anymore, since of all the people who've ever read, it seems you took it upon you to misunderstand every interaction. Eina and Ader having a mutual, unresolved crush on each other is insisted upon since chapter 1, and chapter 2, and chapter 4 —the whole chapter where they are naked in a bath house talking about their relationship— is entirely devoted to it. The story you were reading must have been real nice, but it wasn't the story I wrote. You ask me to take your critique seriously, after doing everything you can to not be taken seriously. "This is not how you write a throuple", says someone who has gone at great lengths to explain why he hates polyamory in anything and that it shouldn't be "forced upon him", that he is "cucked". If you're truly a gay man reading this, you'll know what it sounds exactly as. If you're saying "imagine if I were gay and" you sound even more ridiculous. You had a choice to be happy with your own ending and choices. You demand the whole story change to suit you and how YOU want the characters to be happy. I do not have any good words to call you. I won't be wasting more time on this.

I actually took the time to reply this time. It's not any funny dunking piece; it's just breaking down polyamorous rep in THK and what the heck happened here for him to miss it and feel "cucked" in his words.

I am still confused as to what game this person was playing that he so loved.
"Right at the finish line". Here's the serious answer, and it won't fit in a single comment: you somehow managed to spend 15 hours reading a whole other story and then got mad that this wasn't the story you read in your head. The game explicitly says, just a few hours in, that it's not a monogamous story. Sep states it and Ader gladly accepts it as the condition to their relationship. All throughout that chapter Sep is having an affair with Ader while publicly dating Elbar, so the only one getting "cucked" in your words would be him—but that one was apparently fair game and didn't merit a negative review. You made up a whole other relationship in your head, and you clearly liked it a lot, but it was not the relationship happening. It's stated over and over that they're not a monogamous couple. You play as ALL three corners of the throuple, and a whole chapter is devoted to straightening up their situation and setting the basis for a relationship based on honesty and communication. Instead of them, you positioned yourself as the real protagonist of the story, and it was a great insult to you that the story did not ask for your consent in its natural progression. You may as well ask for a content warning for "character may end up with a different ship other than my fave", "story may go places I didn't expect" or "Link may not get a shark boyfriend like I wanted". To write "I loved everything!" and then leave a negative review because "they don't get to be happy in one ending out of 3 the way I WANT IT" shows you didn't engage with a single point the story made. I'm not going to content warning my identity for you just because you're a bigot about polyamorous romance. I hope you'll get that metaphorical wax poured down your throat over and over and let it break your heart until the day you understand that romance is romance, no matter the number of people involved.

I'm serious, dude. I'm not trying to be judgy of poly relationships as a whole, if people wanna have a three way romance then it's not my place to tell them they shouldn't. But at the same time, if that's not something you're interested in then it's straight up heartbreaking to have the story end that way. Like, you have content warnings for all kinds of other stuff plastered all over the game, did I miss the warning for this one? The writing was otherwise very good. The setting was interesting, the characters were good, the plot was riveting, the romance was great, and then right at the finish line it's like having someone pour molten wax down your throat.
