Hi @carlomasala1.bsky.social what’s Putin trying to do with these actions? Is it about domestic politics, e.g. to provoke a reaction and then go ‘told you we were fighting NATO’ and save face from the embarrassment of not beating Ukraine?

Really tough issue. One thing is to tackle things that people (quite often wrongly) blame on migrants, eg lack of GP appointments or housing shortages. Fairness matters a lot - if people can see or can be persuaded that they & others are being treated equally, that should help.

What can policy realistically do to change the way voters ‘feel’ about an issue though? Specially about migration where media coverage is relentless and mostly one-sided. Insights from event or other sources welcome thx
