I'd use straight arch, but i do think the stability of stable distros is a little bit overrated for even mildly technical end users. updating to a new major Ubuntu or fedora release sounds harder than dealing with the occasional dodgy package update.

the good thing about manjaro is that it's basically arch with some reasonable defaults. the bad thing is, well, all the stuff that fucks up.

cachyOS seems like quite a good version of "arch with reasonable defaults", if you find yourself missing rolling releases or the AUR.

if you're mostly liking mint then i'd stick with it. what are you having problems installing?
