Donnie Darko is actually great! Saw it at a late night screening in September and was surprised how much I still liked it. Someone has to get Kelly out of directors jail.

Family loved it as well btw, non stop laughter. Comedy is alive! Have to show them Ruggles of Red Gap!

Wasn’t particularly excited about this project (or honestly Eggers’ work in general), the comparisons seem too overwhelming for… anyone working today actually. And the inital reactions do not help.

Sounds great, Obayashi is also a director I want to see more of. And Akerman ❤️

Not my greatest moment, I know 😭 I have, however, read the first three chapters as of now, and will try to complete reading it by the end of Christmas vacation. Let’s see how that will turn out.

Just the way it goes, I guess… Probably could be a good idea to try and approach directors together and discuss 2 films a week or so (if you want we can start with Eastwood!). In the end it will probably not work out as planned, but let’s start the new year with high hopes.

Would be great! I guess I will have to catch up on Ford, since the parallels seem quite essential… so you could help me there as well

Also, this is why Christmas holiday is the best. Might start finding my way into Jia Zhangkes filmography tomorrow. And who knows, maybe I‘ll try to tackle Fassbinders Berlin Alexanderplatz somewhere inbetween.

France in 6th place is more than questionable, otherwise great list 👍

Not gonna lie, I’m a bit envious… Have fun!

Haha, well, it much rather remained at trying to watch beetlejuice.
Now planing on watching Cleo from 5 to 7 today and Sorcerer tomorrow.
Pretty excited about those screenings (unfortunately no 35mm, but oh well), hopefully there will be no trouble.
