Can‘t stop thinking about this moment of The Return. Lynch was such an important artist for me, his work shaped me in a way probably no other has. And I do not only refer to his films and his series, but also dozen videos and moments of him that instantly light up my day.
May he rest in piece.

I saw the Austrian film „Mond“ by Kurdwin Ayub yesterday and thought it was absolutely incredible. As tense, as it is alarming. If you get the chance definitely go see it!

Just rewatched The Awful Truth, which I’ve first seen two years ago. Didn’t really love it back then, today left me wondering what was going on there. Endlessly funny (Grant!), elegant and sexy. Last shot is pretty much all of it at the same time. In my mind essential.

Among an extensive amount of movie watching during the last couple of days, I have seen Real Life and Looking for Comedy in a Muslim world by Brooks, as well as A perfect world & Sully by Eastwood. I guess I have to watch their whole filmography now. American cinema, what happened?

Cléo: Was kind of afraid that I wouldn’t love it as much as on my first viewing, so I’m really glad to still absolutely adore it.
Very playful and then suddenly deeply, deeply moving.
Those last 15 minutes are something else.

L.A. movie theaters and I are not off to a good start.
First watched Howl’s Moving Castle at the new beverly, which was fine (theater and projection were very nice), but not my thing.
Then tried to catch a 35mm screening of beetlejuice (which I was very excited about). Cancelled. Power shortage.
