I see this a lot both as a journal editor and someone who tries to publish outside my discipline/field. In my opinion, editors have a big responsibility to push back but sometimes feels futile when not just peer review but every academic incentive favors to each their own fiefdom

Yes, he is being labelled as a "communist" by his opponents in their US media interviews, e.g. NBC, NYT, etc.

Yes! I hope US journalists adopt this stance too when interviewing politicians....also challenging what US politicans label as socialism, communism, capitalism, etc
