I can't help but notice that the person who actually arrested Mayor Ras Baraka wasn't ICE. It was HSI, the same folks who dragged that woman and her daughters out of their home in Oklahoma. For a group no one has heard of, they are awfully visible lately.

Can someone like @kenmartin.bsky.social please explain to me why @jamestalarico.bsky.social is not on a speaking tour of every red and swing state in this country? I haven't seen a single person destroy MAGA as consistently and elegantly as Talarico's speeches.

A colleague at Stanford’s business school used The Stanford Daily to argue—poorly—against DEI. The piece was riddled with historical errors and left one searching for fact, so I broke my public writing hiatus to respond.

I hope you’ll read and share the piece.

What DEI threatens isn’t merit. It’s monopoly.
Political science professor Hakeem Jefferson argues for DEI's importance to de-monopolizing universities.

Why is James Talarico not representing the Dems on a national platform? He is so clearly the real deal.

The number of comments I'm seeing unconcerned about the erosion of due process is insane. It's not about coddling bad guys. It exists to protect all of us from government over reach and abuse. You'd think the Gadsden flag crowd would get that. Let due process go, and good luck keeping your guns.

Why is DHS spokesmodel Kristi Noem posing in front of Salvadoran MS13 gang members? Where are the people our government sent down there? Where are the deportees?

Confirming, as was obvious from context already, that this wasn’t a one-off. They are routinely using Signal to evade statutory record retention requirements.

DOGE isn't just cutting vital government services.

Each federal job loss could also result in the loss of at least one additional worker in the private sector.

Working people having less money in their pockets to spend stifles local economies.

What’s “efficient” about that?

I think all these protests at all the different agencies as well as every other issue are too spread out. They all should be in Lafayette Park all day every day until it out grows Lafayette and moves to the mall. Every group / issue united.

For the rest of my life, I will never understand how a country full of people busting their asses, working paycheck to paycheck, allow the fucking richest guy on Earth to call them "parasites" while calling the Social Security we contributed to our entire lives "a Ponzi scheme."

Un-fucking-real.
