I'm not trying to be dismissive of Guillermo del Toro's version. He's a super talented filmmaker, but his version of this story is just not really for me, and that's ok!

Yeah, so... I'm sorry, but I definitely prefer Kenneth Branagh's version of Frankenstein, with all his theatrical excesses and operatic tendencies--and Patrick Doyle following him to the ends of the earth.

Yes, PREDATOR: BADLANDS rules. But still, the best movie in the franchise remains unrivaled.

Damn. Rest in peace, Tchéky Karyo. What a unique presence and voice. He will absolutely be missed.

I miss the days when filmmakers dared to name their characters shit like John Matrix, Mason Storm, or Desolation Williams.

Five movie collection when two more come out this year feels... ill-advised. Why not release a seven-movie set early next year instead?

Ok, I don't know if it's just that my patience is running low today, but I found the new Fantastic Four movie to be incredibly, incredibly annoying. I need to watch something else immediately. Ugh.

Here's the thing. I love all the John Wick movies, but every time I watch the second one, I confirm it is my absolute favorite of the series. They're all good, but this one is just perfect!

Also, I'm not going to spoil anything, but in *that* moment in KILLER OF KILLERS, I would have loved to see Lt. Mike Harrigan instead. Just sayin'.

As the film score enthusiast you guys know I am, I very much appreciate this little moment in KILLER OF KILLERS. Not to be dismissive of the works of Benjamin Wallfisch and Sarah Schachner, but Alan Silvestri's themes are as essential to a Predator movie as the triple red laser beam sight.

As much as I love this artwork from Arrow Video, it always makes me imagine a version of CARLITO'S WAY that is actually a horror movie involving werewolves.

What's your unpopular #startrek opinion?

1. The best season of Picard was the first one

2. JJ Abrams first Star Trek is a great blockbuster

3. The last time ST did anything interesting was in the first season of Discovery

4. The Enterprise G is horrendous

5. Strange New Worlds is just okay
what's your unpopular #startrek opinion?

1. The next Kelvin Timeline movie should be directed by either Jonathan Frakes or Nicholas Meyer, no one else.

2. STAR TREK: INSURRECTION is awesome!

3. JJ Abrams fucking sucks.

Argento's second intricately woven web of witchcaft is often dismissed as style over substance. Perhaps, but with style this good who cares. 1980.

What's a movie that is wildly considered bad but you love it proudly?

League Of Extraordinary Gentleme (2003)
As an adaptation of the original comic it's a disaster but this movie looks incredible.

Shout-out to legendary British movie production designer Ken Adam (1921-2016), born 104 years ago today! From spaceships to gigantic sets, we were in for a treat.

Here are some of his works on Star Trek: Planet of the Titans (canceled in 1977), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), and Moonraker (1979).
