Jelte van der Vaart, postdoc in our lab, has been awarded an NWO Veni grant! 🎉
He will develop human adrenal organoids to uncover how hormone producing cells change identity and function, shedding light on endocrine health.
We're so proud of his achievement and will support him along the way 😁

Yesterday, @antonvenhuizen.bsky.social successfully defended his thesis "Molecular mechanisms of the
β-catenin destruction complex in health and disease", which describes the versatile field of WNT regulator AXIN1.

We are super proud and wish Dr. Venhuizen all the best in Cambridge!

Pre-print Alert! 📢
Proud to share our insights on WNT7B driving pancreatic cancer progression. Sprangers et al uses organoids to show that WNT7B employs short-range signaling driving tumor growth and mediate a shift of PDAC cells towards a more aggressive phenotype

WNT7B drives a program for pancreatic cancer subtype switching and progression
Hyperactivation of WNT signaling is a well-established hallmark of cancer. Various epithelial cancers express high levels of WNT7B and WNT10A that are not commonly expressed during tissue homeostasis,...

🎉 Huge congratulations to Dr. Joep Sprangers! Yesterday, Joep successfully defended his PhD thesis and officially became a doctor! His studies describe the role of WNT7B and WNT10A in regeneration, homeostasis, and cancer.
It was a very special day, couldn’t be prouder.
