Instead of paying millions of dollars to hold more people, the County could also simply pay for detained people to have counsel at their bail hearings like the City does (and like the Constitution requires, but whose counting)

I generally think highly of @stlmag.bsky.social’s reporting which makes this fluff piece even more odd. Why no questioning about why it’s a “privilege” to have a respectful CO and not the baseline? Any improvement in medical care, solitary confinement, use of force?

We were just told that they won’t let us in. They are denying entry to 2 dozen members of Congress. Elon Musk has all our private information & we have no idea what he’s doing with it. This is happening completely behind closed doors. HELL NO. It’s illegal. We demand oversight!
