Terracotta spindle whorls dating to the 6th & 5th centuries BCE, found at the Sanctuary of Nymphe on the Athenian Acropolis. Nymphe was the divine protectress of marriage and the rites of weddings and these whorls would have been dedicated to her by women. Acropolis Museum, Athens. 📷 me

It would be so helpful if you could retweet my May botanical illustration & mental health w’shop in my previous post if you have a moment. I've been unable to work since December due to a breakdown (not proud of this) & I'm trying to get back on my feet so if you could RT it would help enormously 🌿

A French way of saying something is tip-top, especially a fine wine, is c’est le petit Jésus en culotte de velours. It means “it’s the baby Jesus in velvet underpants.”

It's #NationalHatDay! Here's some excellent headwear (and moustaches) from an album of 19th-century Ottoman fashion. More here: publicdomainreview.org/collection/1...

Nature grounds us in the present moment while lifting our spirits. Its rhythms connect us to something greater, as mindful movement in natural spaces brings healing and joy. From the tundra, I send forth joy, hope, and positivity.
