This worked for me:
155 mM NaCl, 10 mM Tris-HCl at pH 7.5, 50 mM NaBH4 > in refrigerator 2 days before use.

Use: After permeabilising apply AF-reducing agent overnight at 4˚C

It's possible to do it faster at room temp and higher NaBH4 conc but it's less gentle to the sample.

Hope it works!

Looks like an exciting meeting. Would you know if it's possible to attend online? Thanks

I'm not sure how bacteria on oysters are but in early Xenopus cells sodium borohydride works well to remove autofluorescence from sources like PFA fixation. There's a good protocol on CSH I can try look for it.

It therefore makes sense to me that what we generally call ‘fish’ should be termed ‘non-tetrapod bony fish’ which excludes land-dwelling four-legged animals like mammals (including whales) and reptiles as well as sharks.

People have started to accept the scientific view that birds have descended from dinosaurs and there is no way to group dinosaurs without including the bird lineage. Therefore, we now often refer to the extinct species of lizard-like animals who dominated the Mesozoic Era as ‘non-avian dinosaurs’.
