Anyway I love magic and think people should play however they want, but your upgraded precon can probably hang with optimized decks with beta duals and tutors - if you eat your vegetables and actually upgrade the precon to play smoother not just upgrade cards with strictly better versions

We should be encouraging deploying removal effectively, careful threat assessment, embracing interaction as a part of the game, and avoiding giving a mismatch of brackets as an excuse or explanation of why a game goes the way it goes

“Can Hang” might be a great name for that category. I feel like the granular specifics of more categories and more definition encourages a culture of deciding what your deck is and expecting games to go a certain way if everyone is in the “same bracket” but this is a wildly variable social game.

And at first look, even I was like “oh so is everything kind of a 3 now” and first of all… no. 1s and 2s are very real and are basically the same as the current bracket system. And i think that 3 should be a huge category!
