This may not be the Pistons best defensive performance by any statistical measure, but I think they’ve dictated what the Pacers are going to do better than any game I can remember in a long time. Really impressive stuff.

Cade missed the shot generated by it, but would really like to see the Pistons run that same action with Ivey ghost screening for Cade. That’s the kind of set that will put good pressure on defenses because of their different skill sets.

It’s so nice to watch Ausar play basketball again. That corner 3 attempt missed badly but the form looked way better on first glance.

Pistons are going to have to change up the PnR coverage when Vooch is involved. Making it way too easy for Chicago right now.

The Pistons currently have three players defending the rim at solid volume and limiting opponents below 60% shooting:
Cade - 5.1 DFGA at 57.7%
Duren - 5 DFGA at 51.7%
Stew - 4.8 DFGA at 41.8%
Duren still has work to do defensively but this matches my eye test that he’s been better around the rim

I don’t see how you can take Holland out of the rotation, even when THJ and Ausar are back. He’s earned his spot.

Cade’s made a lot of impactful defensive plays this year but he really needs to start getting the basic stuff right more often.

Before tonight, the last NBA regular-season day with only one game on the schedule was Dec. 1, 2022 -- also a Thursday. The Mavericks played then, too, losing to Detroit in OT.
