Dad, husband, attorney, veteran, American history buff 🇺🇸. Go Mets and Knicks!
Under Humphrey’s Executor (case from 1935), and SCOTUS’s narrowing of it in 2020 and 2021, my concern is that SCOTUS will likely uphold the firing of Dellinger (but will likely grant Harris’s request to get reinstated). Even with MSPB at full strength, losing the OSC and its independence is an issue

Absolutely! I commend him for going in person to those districts. That’s the energy and strategy the left needs and certainly more so than any postings on social media. But only posting on X? Not sure what that accomplishes given that it’s overrun by bots and trolls. No actual engagement.

Exactly. Yelling at each other like talking heads on TV serves no purpose other than to enrage and confirm bias. Civil discourse is not always pretty, but it’s necessary. Beliefs will be challenged. Opinions may change. It’s a bedrock of what this nation has been for 250 years.

Thank you for pushing use of this platform over X. Meaningful engagement is so important and we need it now more than ever. Bluesky is the place for it.

The military never stops trying to increase that threshold.

This is the most entertainment I’ve gotten from a Knick game this season. Vibes are immaculate!

Simply responding to your unsupported speculation that JB “could not handle the load either of those players carry every night.” JB already proved he can and he does. Players to score 40 points in 4 consecutive playoff games: Bernard King, Jerry West, Michael Jordan, JB. End of list. All star!
January 24, 2025 at 3:30 AM
Pure conjecture. In last year’s playoffs, when the entire Knicks squad was hurt, JB scored 40+ every night on 50% shooting. And no, JB is playing significantly better than Ball, who is barely shooting 41% from the floor. A lot of inefficient scoring is not all star material (Monta Ellis)

Cade is underrated this year. JB deserved to make the all star team. Both things can be true at the same time; they are not mutually exclusive. If JB went 0/129 FG with 65 TOV next game, he’d still have a higher FG% and fewer TOV per game than LaMelo Ball, who many fans are arguing was snubbed.

He’s definitely not - You have to watch to understand his value (and his scoring numbers are kind of elite too). He doesn’t have the assists of Trae or the dominant scoring of Shai, but he’s extremely efficient and has the “it” factor when the game is on the line. No moment is too big for him.

We have the internal fix for that once Mitch (hopefully) comes back healthy.
January 11, 2025 at 5:15 PM
Agree with all of that! The need for change came to a forefront last night. Knicks could learn from watching some Thunder tape - their defense is so impressive. Knicks have the personnel to do that too.
January 11, 2025 at 5:14 PM
Im not so sure it’s Bridges - I think it’s scheme. All of our defenders get beat at the point of attack. OG, Deuce, Hart, etc. these are guys that absolutely can stay in front, but consistently don’t. it’s as if Thibs’ scheme encourages point of attack defenders to let guys go to their weak side.
January 11, 2025 at 5:07 PM
How is a starting unit with OG, Bridges, and Hart so ineffective defensively? Whatever scheme Thibs is using isn’t working. OG consistently gobbled up the best player on the other team last year - we haven’t seen that this year. Bridges can do the same. Why are they always getting beat?

Reading comprehension is difficult for some.

These 300 voters are not starting off 2025 the (w)right way.

Issues with this franchise start at the top. Rodgers hasn’t been amazing, but he’s been adequate. When was the last time the Jets had a QB with something close to a 24/8 TD/INT ratio? Or pushing 4,000 throwing yards? Probably Ryan Fitzpatrick almost a decade ago.

I like the idea but not sure this will hold for older all stars like LeBron, Durant, and Steph. These guys are in phenomenal shape but have limited bullets to spare. I don’t think they’ll engage with the necessary intensity for the ASG.

Strangely, mortgage rates have not dropped with the Fed cuts. I’m not an economist so I don’t really know why - maybe someone can enlighten me - but I’m pessimistic this will help first time buyers enter the market.
