95% of my fiction reading is in the SF&F&H range but I read the (gloriously titled) Heat 2 by Michael Mann and Meg Gardiner last year and was blown away, in part because I was reading something set in our real world. Yes it’s still crime fiction but that’s like realistic literature for me

Carters AG; it became a problem for Reagan but only at like 2 or 3 days at a time. The mammoth shutdowns of the last decade are a new thing. And must surely cause real economic damage?
