“The suspects, including two Ecuadorians, a Venezuelan and a Colombian, were remanded in pre-trial custody after their court appearance in the Azores on Tuesday, said police. “. & the sub was seized. It IS possible to do without blowing them up.

That paper also had a weird post-script:
It was consistently cited in the 1980s by US rock bands on 'comeback' press tours, claiming to have cleaned up.
It became part of their standard redemption story, to the point where I suspect it was part of the onboarding script at the Betty Ford Clinic.

The legendary 1978 study: Rhesus monkeys had a choice of 2 buttons every 15 minutes.
One dispensed food, one cocaine.
The monkeys "chose cocaine almost exclusively, resulting in high cocaine intake, decreased food intake, weight loss, marked behavioral toxicity".

My first band in the 1990s was named Spooky Grapehead, after a Trevor & Simon Saturday morning kids’ TV sketch in which they wanted to carve a Halloween pumpkin.
They kept downscaling (“What about the poor children who can’t afford a pumpkin?”) via satsuma head etc - & ended up with a spooky grape.
