Messaging is one of the most important tools available to the House minority. Even if it doesn’t persuade voters, messaging can keep the party unified, boost morale, and rally the base. Think creatively – what will get people’s attention, make people care? See e.g. Newt Gingrich. 3/x

Jordan 124, Scott 81. That’s a big # for Jordan (more than Scalise!) but also a sizable # for Scott given that he declared his candidacy like 4 hours ago.

Who might win the GOP nomination for Speaker? An analysis of MCs who've committed shows that Freedom Caucus and more conservative members are more likely to endorse Jordan, & lawmakers from safer districts are more likely to endorse Scalise....
