Some good news amidst the chaos, my lab officially received our notice of award for a #DoD CDMRP DMD grant focused on evaluating new therapies that impact DMD neurological symptoms. Excited to work on this project with Karen Gamble’s lab in UAB Psychiatry.

Excited to be speaking at the Birmingham JETT Foundation Workshop for DMD families this upcoming Saturday. Myself and other members of the MDA Clinic at Children's of Alabama will be speaking on topics such as research, new gene/drug therapies for DMD. tinyurl.com/yc8xxf8d

Looking forward to attending the 8th International Workshop for Glycosylation Defects in Muscular Dystrophies. Will be speaking on the drug screening for some of the projects performed by UAB Center for Precision Animal Modeling (CPAM). Will be excited to see results from new LGMD gene therapies.

Kicking off the Opening Ceremony for @MDAorg 75th Conference in Dallas with a somewhat somber note by MDA CEO Don Wood. For the first time, no representation from the NIH is attending this meeting. Hoping that changes.

Made it to Dallas for the 75th @MDAorg Conference. Saw a bunch of grant recipient and research highlights including yours truly. Should be a great meeting!

Excited to receive an early Xmas gift yesterday for an NoA R21 grant with @kaesser.bsky.social and Karen Gamble's labs. Really excited to get this project defining a new role for dystrophin in the brain off the ground!
