They have queueing lines on their platforms. This helps the loading/unloading of trains to be more smoother and efficient - especially during busy rush hour!

Some of their bathrooms have screens that indicate which stalls are available. Seems like a no brainer! There's also free public bathrooms in *every* train station. Something we need more of in America!

There are "women only" cars on some of their trains! Seems like a great option for women to have as it can provide an option for safety and security traveling to and from their destination. (In a perfect world we wouldn't need this, but at least it's an option in Japan)

A few fun observations while I was in Japan:
They build spaces for people under their trains! This photo is taken from the entrance to a bookstore and is an indoor/outdoor hallway that has restaurants and shops on either side. All under the train's path. Seems like a good use of space, yea?
