Agreed... also if OP went through the trouble of doing all that focus stacking, why would they leave the front of the mushroom out of focus? Another thing that seems to me like AI trying to replicate a true image.

I've seen them a few times but this is the only decent photo I have of them. The other times I've found them fully emerged they've been:

- All withered and dried up
- Crushed flat, having grown in a tight space between layers of bark
- Knocked over/smashed up
- Too high up/far away to properly see

And as a bonus surprise, I even found a couple of Ceps! Not totally unexpected given I found some just over the road at Wollaton Park last year, but they always feel a bit special to me.
