Twitter’s iPhone App being down all day has been remarkable for my mental health.

The world is still on fire, but I don’t see the folks actively throwing accelerant on the fire.

Narcolepsy (narcolepsie coined by Jean-Baptiste Édouard Gélineau) has been around long enough that facial hair like this was in style.

Descriptions of narcolepsy first in 1877 and the term “narcolepsie” was coined by Jean-Baptiste Édouard Gélineau in 1880.

Evidence suggests most cases of NT1 (with cataplexy) are autoimmune disorders not “injuries.”

This is bad for so many reasons.

People with chronic and rare conditions struggle to pay for meds already.

Some products require an ex-US supply chain. Others can adapt, but it will take time.

Patients will suffer.

Those are cute! Why do you stack your paperweights?

If you come to Nashville, I’ll show you the thick-bar dumbbells I use for warm-ups.

Dear @tonycunningham.bsky.social,

This awaits you at SLEEP after our arm wrestling match.

Just watched the Tar Heels cruise to a victory against Campbell.

Pops (c/o 71), brother, and I were gifted the trip by my partner/wife/bestie/camerawoman.

These hajj moments in Chapel Hill are memories I’ll cherish forever.

Walking downstairs to train now.

If you think I haven’t already recruited my hillbilly arm-wrestling connections, you’re sorely mistaken.

Earlier this year I got a chance to meet an icon amongst #SleepPeeps:

Watson Mignot (DWN)

In groundbreaking work with Dobermans, Watson’s dad—Dr. Emmanuel Mignot—connected orexin/hypocretin and narcolepsy (NT1).

Dr. Mignot has encouraged and supported my advocacy, but Watson has my heart.

Last time @markhamillofficial.bsky.social replied to me it was in regards to a certain megalomaniac in office.

A New Hope.

Sharing some great news on the advocate-author front via Project Sleep!

From my dear friend/mentor, Julie Flygare: “Social support and isolation in narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia: an international survey” was accepted!

Note: Not my work, but ecstatic to see this published

My Poppie, Thomas Guschke, enlisted as a Navy “Fighting Seabees” at age 16.

During WWII he served in the Pacific Rim, by risking his life to set up military bases. “A rifle in one hand, shovel in the other.”

Poppie inspired by advocacy as a tireless champion

Veterans deserve better.

Two weeks ago, the Dream Team from Project Sleep pushed our legislative advocacy agenda for sleep and sleep disorders.

We championed efforts including: NIH sleep increases and across the board; inclusion in PRMRP; and the SLEEP Act, a CDC effort.

It’s harder now, but we won’t stop.

A month ago I had the honor of presenting my Project Sleep Rising Voices presentation for @carleara.bsky.social The University at Buffalo class.

This was my 2nd yr presenting to her class and I hope it’s the beginning of a LONG streak.

Long overdue in acknowledging one of my favorite SleepPeeps!
