One of the great gags of the moment is the DHS spox using the Berkeley Free Speech movement as the banner on her account, where she posts about deporting academics.

more and more these days, I find myself thinking that you can accept the discipline of your political goals or you can accept the discipline of your resentments.

If I didn’t know better, I’d be shocked by the unchecked meanness and pettiness Mike highlights here. How embarrassing for everyone.
After two years Chibber responds to "The Problem of Class Abstractionism" by me and @matthikaru.bsky.social on a podcast called "give them an argument." It's a notable point, because it is mostly just bitter invective, rather than responding to arguments. No comradely exchange to be found here.

Two days after Michael was killed, I wrote this short piece about what he meant to me – and more importantly, what he meant to us.

It was the hardest thing I've ever written. Thanks to @versobooks.bsky.social for running it.

The way that university officials have begun to treat “peaceful” and “disruptive” as antonyms, when they in fact are not antonyms, is the kind of violence to language that one expects of authoritarians

Along with Latin American Studies, 16 other majors were identified as low-enrolled. These majors were given four options and a December deadline to stay at Miami.
