Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.
We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.
They own what happens next.

the downfall of the united states and the targeting of minority groups is on the hands of democrats like @durbin.senate.gov
There is very little about this CR that I like—but there is even less I like about a government shutdown. With Trump & Musk taking a chainsaw to the government’s workforce & illegally freezing funding, the last thing we need to do is plunge our country into further chaos by shutting down the govt.

I’ve seen enough. Dick Durbin is not made for this moment. The wonderful people of Illinois deserve better representation and leadership. As an Illinois resident, I’ll make it my mission to oppose him and primary him in 2026. Let me know how I can help. @jbpritzker.bsky.social @aoc.bsky.social
