Interesting. I’d read some complaints that they shouldn’t be speaking Swahili because they’re from the wrong part of Kenya. Came up in a complaint about the season three finale.

DS9 always kind of flew under the radar. I also wonder if it’s because Trek fans don’t seem to like what Section 31 turned into, so they avoid talking about any of it.

Unfortunately due to the network politics of the era, the minority cast members were relegated to background roles. Which was revolutionary back then, but in the years since you can watch the show and say “They’re led by a white guy, as it should be.”
Don’t tell them that Shatner is Jewish. 😉
