Just getting back to snooker after several years away. I can't get any action on the cue ball, and I'm getting a ton of heavy contacts and kicks. Top-spin seems a little more reliable than screw shots. User error or a dead tip? Any recommendations for a replacement tip brand? #snooker #advice

So I kind of want the help of a LLM agent on my linux box, which I can interact with from a command line shell and get it to go off and do jobs for me. And I want to be able to extend it with arbitrary capabilities and maintain multiple sessions.

I've got suckered into watching 9-ball and 10-ball on YouTube. The shorter format compared to my traditional watch of snooker better suits my long-covid-addled brain.

Trump wants to replace NATO with bilateral pay-for-protection deals. He divides nations into Powers and Clients, with America, China and Russia as Powers and all else as Clients. All Clients are and should remain whole dependent for defence upon their host Power. Anything else is illegitimate.

Just binged Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. The perfect calming show for these fraught times. I think I enjoyed it more than Dungeon Meshi.

My guess is that Vance went into his pre-scripted attack on Zelenski at that particular moment because Zelensky was describing how Putin breaks all deals, and Vance and Trump know that they were planning to break the deal with Zilensky he'd flown to the USA to sign.

I am thinking of having a go at some Kratky home-hydroponics. Mainly salads and herbs initially. Wish me luck!

I bought a new pump for my fish tank. It has been blending my small fish and shrimp. So that's rubbish.

Gemini has really upped its game. The latest release of bots function really well in everything I've been using them for. I haven't yet tried any complex, creative, reasoning tasks.

Is there a market for pico guppies? I seem to be growing them 1-1.5cm as adults!!!

This is the beginnings of my daphnia culture. Let's see how it goes.
January 29, 2025 at 1:23 PM
I'm thinking of trying something totally new - a glass bowl no-filter aquarium with daphnia, underwater plants, and some house plants rooted into it from above. Perhaps a cold-water shrimp to keep the daphnia from getting too lonely. As a decorative alternative to green-water daphnia culture jars.

I've watched a ton of aquarium videos now, and people set up these amazing projects, incredible builds, that look stunning. But there's almost nothing showing how their aquarium or bowl ecosystem develops over 6 months or a year or two years. It's all about the builds, not the long-term living.

My tank is back together again. No lost fish! Good excuse to reposition all the hardscaping.

My fish pump died today. So I now have a new pump, some little red shrimp, and extra plants. Expensive.

#wheeloftime #spoiler question 2: who was Nakomi, the proportion Wise One that Aviendha met on her way to be tested? She behaved a bit like a benevolent Chosen.

I have some questions about #wheeloftime - obviously involving #spoilers for those watching instead of reading. 1. Faile,Oliver and The Horn were in the Blasted Lands in book 13. How did they appear in Malden in book 14?

Overall, I enjoyed #thewheeloftime. The story structure was good, and the core fantasy mechanics worked well. It had great character-development. I'd definitely recommend it. I have a lot of issues with it, all of which no doubt have been discussed to death, but it was good enough to survive them.
