imo not a matter of it looking bad, more that it robs the game of the aesthetic qualities the original had

more defined rib shapes all over with that distinct doom 3 style hard contrast lighting made every shadow look like it could be something evil, and while RT is nice it's just normal looking

Fair. Stylistically speaking, I think modern graphics look great on deadspace. And as much as I praise the game as a 10/10 to my friends, I have enough humility to admit there are some places it came up lacking. Lol

the hyper realistic lighting isn't meant for the ishimura's locales, it's all meant for that harsh baked in stuff of the era, so there's a ton of details and text/details that gets hidden or is nearly unreadable

Personally, I think the raytracing aspect looks good on deadspace. Maybe my sight is better, idk.

But also at the same time I could do without my gpu screaming in agony when I game.
