Video games are my jam, I especially like video game music.

I also spend irresponsible sums of money on Pokemon cards and merch.

And why are we taking anything executives have to say at face value? They will sacrifice their own children to make an extra million.

Simple, they create the kindling so any ember sparks a massive fire that spirals out of control… just so happens, they see the lives of those who swore to defend it as that kindling… they want a fire, and this is them fanning the flames of it.

They are arsonists, they are murderers.

I don't know about scalpers, but I'm pretty sure they have scallops, which is kinda similar... (I don't know, I'm overthinking this)

Scalpers getting pissed? [cracks open a cold beer]

proof positive that they aren't qualified to hold any position in government, I wouldn't even trust them to be on an HOA board.

has been ever since the turd was allowed to walk free after the arraignment in Georgia. That call alone should've revoked his right to seek public office until his dying breath.

I do not think the decision was arbitrary, based on what I'm seeing from the Microcenter website, it could be, and likely is the case, that no one was willing to make 32 gig cards that support the speeds Nintendo is requiring.
November 26, 2025 at 10:08 PM
As for that * from earlier, keep in mind speed is also an important factor, those 32 gig SD cards I mentioned are only rated at U1/C10 speeds; a minimum sustained write speed of 10 megabytes/second. Most of the bigger cards on the same page are rated for triple that speed (U3/V30, 30 megabytes/s).+

Optical media is cheaper, yes, but it, and the read mechanism, are also more fragile, slower, more power hungry, and adds more points of failure. Things I don't really want in a portable system.+

When was the last time you heard of a company selling a big ticket item (like a large TV, big loud speakers, or even a general purpose computer) at a loss for reasons other than liquidation or an inventory dump (yes, I consider price cuts on older model iPhones to be an inventory dump)?
November 26, 2025 at 9:37 PM
If you like their product, and want them to continue making stuff like it or supporting it in the future, you should. If they don't remain in the black they'll going to shutter.+

I'd rather have to deal with game key cards than a physical release that is just a code in a box.
November 26, 2025 at 9:29 PM
If key cards are the worst thing about the system, it's doing pretty good. It's also not a problem unique to the Switch 2, even within Nintendo's own hardware ecosystem. A fair amount of 3rd party releases late into the Switch's life required additional data to be downloaded (example attached).+

There is no way this was a surprise to Marriot executives, so I think it's only fair they eat this cost to keep customers happy.

Should be an incinerator their tossing it into

What the hell is this timeline?

If holding criminals to account would cause a total collapse of all structure, let it.

"Hey, wait, that sounds similar"

It should.
