Yeah...I know. A picture of nothing. But I really wanted to share that I've "finished" a novel I've been working on for quite a few years now. It is a labour of love and has been A RIGHT OL' JOURNEY.

Feeling fed up with the cold #weather now that Christmas is behind us? @mattgaw.bsky.social writes for @theguardian.com on the joy he finds in the snow, wind and rain on the Scottish isle of Skye, and that ‘bad’ weather can be as restorative as sunshine:

Winter Skye: the snow, wind and rain made our trip to Scotland a euphoric experience
Winter on the Scottish isle is a thrill for our writer, a reminder that the ‘bad’ elements can be as exhilarating and restorative as sunshine

Industrial farming is choking our planet . Yet at a time when we should be supporting farmers to invest in restoring nature and transitioning away from destructive animal ag , the news that government have slashed wildlife-friendly budgets even further is just plain insanity .

When it comes to storms and the letter B, the names are deliciously plosive. They batter, bludgeon, burst, bang, boom and bloody blow. But....Bert? Would have preferred a Blake or a Bennett.

Please remember to tag posts with #naturewriting so they will appear on the Nature Writing feed. I hope the hashtag will bring writers & readers together, & help create community. I'd love the feed to be as diverse as poss, so do post on the margins - where nature writing merges with other subjects.
