Human of average intelligence, but an outsized love of great cities, bicycle for transportation, guacamole, and building software.
Bluesky feels like an echo chamber that distorts my view of reality. X feels like a cesspool and a non-premium experience (the app is incredibly cluttered and the ads are atrocious in terms of quality now).

Threads feels like an echo chamber too because of their algorithm. No app is the sweet spot.

Vice is a monster, of such frightful means,
As to be hated, yet needs to be seen.
Yet seen too oft, familiar with her face,
we first endure, then pity, then embrace.

So much truth in this. Are you trying to win a competition you actually don’t really care about? Are you on the default path?

We have a pug that we rescued when he was 2 years old. They said he was potty trained, but that's been not entirely accurate. I'd get really annoyed when he had an accident in the house. But I realize the days I take him on a walk to start the day he does just fine.

Someone used Midjourney to create images of what a human scale, walkable city could look like. They are gorgeous.

I attended a city councilors meeting today in Colorado. I was amazed at how few generations were present at the meeting. Decisions are being made and young people often just aren’t showing up. Attendees were predominantly older and single family home owners.
