For me, no. In an emergency cover role yes but I think he’s a very different type of player without the physicality or ability to hold the ball up or pin the CB as Ollie can. I’d play him with Ollie but not instead.

Reminds of when we were behind a van at some traffic lights when my daughter was little and she asked me “Daddy, why has someone drawn a palm tree on the back of that van??” Errrrr ! 😂😂🤦‍♂️

I get it Jo 👍 I love Ollie and think he has been brilliant but I personally felt if the side was to evolve that’s an area we could go big. Having said that look at Isak now 😂😂!!

No but it is on my Xmas list!
November 25, 2025 at 3:31 PM
Agree. I’ve said before I think if we’d have qualified for the CL, we’d have sold him and moved on but once we didn’t the only logical decision for me was to stick with Ollie.

The brilliance of Emery’s psychological management in practice!

He’s also always been a very streaky goalscorer. Could well go and score 10 in 10 at any point but he can’t do that from the bench.
November 25, 2025 at 3:16 PM
Yep and I do he has been hampered by our lack of creativity at the start of the season. I’m hoping now our xG as a team looks like it’s improving, we’ll see him start to get amongst some goals and assists soo.

Very underrated as a manager imo.
November 25, 2025 at 3:07 PM
😂 yes!! I’m the youngest by some considerable distance of 5 though so Brian was a legend in our household as all my brothers adored him. My memories are largely 2nd hand and from video aside from that 45 mins against England. Was so happy he became manager and produced that brilliant side and a cup

I sing it to myself every time I see a picture of him 😂😂 Only saw him play once that I actually remember and that was his testimonial against England in 1980!! May have seen him before but I was only 8 😂😂
November 25, 2025 at 2:53 PM
I hear he plans to spend it walking on water …….. fa la la la la 🎶🎶
November 25, 2025 at 2:46 PM
I always find it interesting how a couple of days later sofa score always updates the xG once they’ve reassessed it!!

He was very clear to use the word “direct” as his get out. Absolute turd of the highest order.
November 25, 2025 at 9:07 AM
You’re probably right. I should probably rephrase that I hope someone offered him a wedge as a TV pundit so he could at least turn it down!!
November 24, 2025 at 3:25 PM
Totally get that. I wouldn’t hang anyone for being a nice friendly person. But as a TV pundit he’s a bit unsuitable for the role. Or at least for the amount of punditry minutes given to him.
November 24, 2025 at 3:16 PM
Somebody should have paid Liam Rosenior a wedge to make him the face of TV football. Imo he was by far and away the most coherent, intelligent pundit on the TV.

I just find that irritating!!! 😂 Spit it out man!! The sentences never seem to run together properly 😂😂
