I have a similar affliction. Persona 4 and Super Metroid are some of my favs as well. I gravitate toward making Metroidvania games because it’s what I like to play.

I've been programming for 20 years and learning to code can feel like a foreign language for quite a while. I've not met a programmer where everything clicked the first time. Keep pushing through and the barriers will break down. You got this!

You'll get there! Skills get better with practice and making mistakes. I've made a lot of prototypes and games over the years. Also, most of the art are assets that I modified with a bunch of code to stick it all together.

Nice! Impressive you can move the character while the dialogue is shown. In hindsight, I wish I would have gone with something more like this to have room for more dialogue.
