When this is all over, Marc Elias gets a sainthood and a Medal of Freedom. I only wish there were 100 clones of him to help keep elections free and fascism at bay.

See Joshi's rebuttal (below). It's very well written and supported by facts, but that may not matter to Trump and Vance.

Lol. Overpaid academics. Sununu has not idea what he's talk about, and clearly has no clue about how compensation from grants works.

I usually love the passing, but they need to not pass up open shots. Of course, Protas scores anyway right after the PP. He is having a great season. He plays hard, and has some great defensive skills.

It is expensive, but somewhat consistent with the other state schools. As a faculty member, there are no discounts for my own kids, so they have all attended elsewhere. I'm happy to help your son if he needs anything while on campus. GMU is well connected to local employers, which is helpful.

You're right about having all those uncontrollable things click into place. I tell my own students that even when circumstances and factors are nearly ideal, that often isn't enough. Congrats. This time of year I reflect a lot of the job, and my value. I know I make a positive impact on a few.

Congrats. It's pretty hard to get a tenure-track position, esp. without a multi-year post-doc.

Truth. It is very hard to recruit new faculty in a HCOL area. There is just no way to afford a home and get ahead. Unfortunately, this causes a sort of unintended filtering for already wealthy or privileged job candidates, or candidates with no families and fewer concerns for the future.

Agree. It has been a great way to rebuild over here.
