Think I'm just going to post about music on here. Is it the only nice thing we have left? I think that sometimes.
So pleased to see Agriculture so high in this list. Such a great album and a huge step forward for them. Loved aya and Richard Dawson this year also! (Holding space for Deftones, Caroline, and Geese too, personally) Great work, tQ
Hark! The Quietus Albums of 2025 chart is here! Prepare to be astounded, thrilled and (potentially) perplexed. tQ subscribers can also dive into selections from all 100 albums in our bumper 9-hour playlist. #tQCharts

Excellent work from @keithkahnharris.bsky.social here talking about Black Sabbath / Ozzy Osbourne's farewell show and the pivotal role played in metal by the frailties and imperfections of the human body.

Black Sabbath began with a broken body – Tony Iommi's industrial accident – it is both fitting and inspirational they end in the same way.

I’m taking over as the menswear guy. Men should rotate through the same four band t-shirts for 35 years. Replace the shirts with identical shirts if the holes in them get big or you get too fat for them

Going to see them on a mixed festival bill next week, but as much as I try I really can't get Turnstile to work for me. I like their ethics and what they do for the visibility of "hardcore", but it all just feels a bit...shiny and lifeless? Produced? Good for them, though.

The Quietus is the best. My number one source of exciting, challenging new music (that I rarely get to play at parties). Go subscribe, the world needs them!

Of course, absolutely reasonable that this album should be 25 years old. Nothing horrifying about that at all

grindcore has roots in hxc punk & metal, lyrically addressing politics & society. screamo is a subgenre of emo, which also has roots in hardcore punk but is more melodic with some clean vocals & lyrics dealing with depression, romance, and death.

Enjoying the new National live album. Nice to be reminded that they're still an exciting and atmospheric live act, despite their later albums descending into very samey treacle-y ballad territory.
