I don't quite have time to do this, but I have bookmarked it because I am wondering if there is a version of this question that asks for the equation of the straight line resulting in 2 equal areas. Perhaps through the origin to make it easier. I like the whole premise, thanks for the prompt.

If you don't know, a plât diviseur has it's origins in Pornic, France and is intended as an aid for cutting circle cakes into uncommon divisions 5, 7, 11 etc. Traditionally the design incorporates rotational symmetry.

Nice! I'm thinking now about the graphs too, an image with the vertex fixed and identified then questions about a b and c (or h & l) in various forms. On my phone so can't create a quick example, but you made me think - thanks!

I appreciate the original question was directed at ALevel teachers but thought it interesting that it's fairly standard for us (I never taught it at ALevel) and thought others would be interested too.

He's 6, he's working on handwriting and all manner of other things in school (in a second language nonetheless) this parent perspective has contributed so much to my professional growth.

I'd love learn a little more and to teach some primary maths now!
