That isn’t to say a party shouldn’t be responsive to citizens at a local or even hyperlocal level, but electoralism in this day/age/media environment just produces chaos.

I’ll cop to disagreeing with that - the 21st century is frankly too complicated for a single person to digest, and as we see with the GOP today, far too many people are motivated by spite and avarice.

that’s the whole point innit. if you’re serious about public service and the general welfare, come be an active member of the party and approach governance as a science; if you’re not, get lost bucko. it’s not gonna produce perfect results every time but god damn it’s admirable.
