I am about half-way through this recording, so my reaction is premature, but I don't understand why an artist who has sung the role with all the best "Italian" singers would want to record it with a bunch of B-listers. There are many excellent recordings of this opera; what is the added value here?

Carracci's Assumption of Mary tends to be overshadowed by the two neighbouring Caravaggios, but it deserves better.

David Teniers the Younger painted a number of delightfully spooky variations on the Temptation of St. Anthony. They say the devil has the best tunes.

I immediately thought of the opening paragraph of Virginia Woolf's The Years as a counterexample, which it is not as it is all about people reacting to the weather (and also about the two senses of the word "season," which comes much to the same thing).

Apparently, I have a thing for fine porcelain, I have no idea why. Meissen ware can move me to tears. I find this bowl utterly fascinating.

Yes, it's hilarious. Isn't it the way this aria was commonly done at the time? I recall hearing a similar performance by Marcella Sembrich. Unlike Sembrich, however, Galvany was not the most tasteful of singers, and she goes wildly over the top. She must have been fun to watch.
