Loving #MIstralAI and its #LeChat LLM chatbot - the latest version feels like a great alternative to the non-European #AI options. Its agents are especially useful. 👍 mistral.ai

This is where I'm at this #monday: practicing #mindfulness but thoroughly distracted by an exciting potential new #communications and #marketing project with a client... 😀

Paul gets out of his room, accidentally knocks over a ceramic penguin, and puts it back.

But Annie notices:

"Paul, my little ceramic penguin in the study always faces due South."

That's the penguin firing like a gun.

"If the reader doesn't need to know something to solve the mystery and it's not a red herring, keep it to yourself." – Anne R. Allen

This writing advice applies to other kinds of fiction, too.

Conversation with an aspiring writer about her book project:

ME: Who are you writing this book for?
HER: No one. I don't care who the reader is...

I can't fathom why I do this to myself, but I recently finished another of Adam Nevilsl #horror #books. The Reddening took me longer than The Ritual, because I took a break after the midpoint, which horrified me so much I couldn't continue. Doesn't sound like a recommendation. And yet it is.

I've rediscovered my #music collection (digital and CD, no cassettes, unfortunately) and the joys of pre-streaming music. Listening to music in an app that doesn't try to push its content into my face. So delightful.

Love this. Looks like something from "Where the Wild Things Are." The photograph captures a wildlife photographer in a ghillie suit. Photo by Giles Laurent (source: Wikipedia).

Hey storytellers, what can classic authors teach us about #creativewriting? To find the answer, I’m on a journey to learn as much as I can from the great masters of the past. I’d love for you to join me at The Classic Storyteller on Substack:

Happy to join you all on Bluesky. I'm a #writingcoach, indie author, and communications consultant. In short, a #storyteller. I'd love to connect with other writers and, in particular, hear from folks who are eager to expand their #creativewriting skills. What's your biggest challenge as a writer?
