¡Welcome to Native American Heritage Month, y feliz Día de los Muertos!

This month we acknowledge the sacrifices, past and present, of Native American, Alaskan Native, and Native Hawaiian peoples, and celebrate their inextricable contributions to American life and culture.

What a damning article. I decided to block & ignore any entertainer that went, & will do the same to entertainers who go in the future. My lone voice doesn't matter in the larger scheme, but it does my soul good to know my orbit favors integrity while the world is aflame.
"To paraphrase TS Eliot: and was it worth it after all?" writes Guardian columnist Hannah Jane Parkinson.

"A question to ponder for the comedians who have taken the coin of a government once described unequivocally as 'the worst of the worst' by a human rights advocacy organization."

Instead of empowering Palestinians to govern themselves, the plan inserts foreign technocrats, gives Israel veto power through “milestones,” then places Trump himself in the literal chair of authority. It’s the opposite of self-determination - it’s colonial stewardship dressed up as redevelopment. 🍉

I'm sorry, was this about US/ICE, or Saudi Arabia? ➡️ "A recent U.S. State Department report on Saudi Arabia's [...] record in 2024 listed [...] 'arbitrary or unlawful [...] disappearances, torture, arbitrary arrest and detention, and serious restrictions on freedom of expression and media freedom,'"

The optics are devastating. States know cameras are rolling, and walking out en masse says to the world: “This man does not speak with legitimacy.” For Netanyahu, who thrives on projecting strength, the isolation will sting worse than any resolution or report.
The majority of the UN walked out of the General Assembly hall as Netanyahu, representing Israel, tried to brag about his criminal actions in Gaza and the region, loud booing ensued leaving Netanyahu visibly shaking in anger.

This tells us two things: how brittle the façade of power is, & how desperately the world wants someone to remind it that courage still exists.

There’s something deeply ironic here too. She’s mocked endlessly for being “just a kid,” but this "kid" was enough to shift state-level military calculus.
Human rights defender Greta Thunberg: "I am not scared of Israel, I am scared of a world that has seemingly lost all sense of humanity. What we are doing here is trying to show there is some humanity left. That there are still people willing to step up when all other means fail." #3E

Huzzah! I have published my first Medium article. This is the first hybrid academic/blog I've created. I pulled on my academic studies and lived experience as an Indigenous woman to craft an essay about the language of Indigenous identity. Here's the hoping it's well received! #Indigenous #Medium 🪶

Netanyahu nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize made me laugh out loud. Then I remembered we live in a moment where a genocidal war criminal can nominate a fascist autocratic demagogue, and the Norwegian Nobel Committee might actually entertain it. That's not funny. @nytimes.com #GiftArticle

🧪 The NEET–incel–blackpill pathway isn't just a product of internet culture, it’s a cultural feedback loop rooted in systemic abandonment. We are watching a new class of ideologically disenfranchised youth emerge, not from fanaticism, but from weaponized apathy. This isn’t just radicalization.
Why incels take the “Blackpill”—and why we should care
A growing number of incels are NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). That should concern us all.

Structural oversight? DOGE'ed. Families have no alternatives. Institutions get more protection than the people they harm. This isn’t just policy failure, it’s about whose bodies are protected, & whose are disposable. Tell me again how MAGA “protects children" & are about "family." @propublica.org

This isn't a principled stance, but a personal proximity pushing policy. Melania is one of the most deepfaked women online. Trump isn't known for compassion toward women. He is known for retaliating when what's “his” is threatened. It doesn't invalidate the positive utility of the law. It's overdue.

There’s no "Stage 5" in standard cancer staging. Ofc, we don’t look to the Trumps for intelligence. To mock Biden’s cancer & Jill’s creds fits their worldview: everything a reality show & human suffering mere set dressings. This isn’t politics, it’s cruelty as branding - brand they wear with pride.

I saw this headline & didn’t blink b/c we’ve crossed the Rubicon of absurdity. We live in an era where satire & policy are indistinguishable. The horror isn't the mistake of believing this headline, it’s in the plausibility. The Onion didn’t write a clever joke. They wrote a future headline. #Resist

It’s not even about cost-cutting. It’s about ideological purification: clearing out career scientists, public health defenders, & experts who won't bend the knee/kiss the ring. A state-sanctioned intellectual purge, w/ life & death consequences disproportionately hitting the elderly, poor, & sick 🤢
