This is a somewhat cheeky request but one that can really help raise the profile of Seascape. If you've read and like the book, it would be wonderful if you would contribute a short review on Amazon. Thanks so much in advance (whatever you say about it!)

Thanks to @scotsman.com for inviting me to write a guest column about Seascape and the ways Victorian engineers and planners radically reshaped the coastline of #Wales - with consequences for how we adapt to #climate change.

Did you know on #PiDay that it was a Welsh mathematician William Jones who came up with the Pi symbol. I write about Jones, his upbringing on the island of Ynys Mon (Anglesey), and his influence on nautical navigation in Seascape.

I'm hitting the road on a #book tour for Seascape which is published on March 13th by Calon Books. The first stops are Mold, Chepstow, Swansea and then a hometown gig in Cardiff. After that, I head further afield and who knows where it will lead... #sea #climatechange

Thirty six years ago this week I arrived in New York and lived here. Great but also quite strange to be back!

Episode 6 of Tramping's Return to My Trees podcast finds me on Eglwysilan Common above Caerphilly, exploring Ifor Bach's rebellion against the new Norman lords and the impact that the Cistercian order had on #Wales's relationship to the #forest and #nature.

In episode 5 of Tramping's Return to My Tree podcast, I walk through south #Wales exploring how the Norman invasion changed local people's relationship to the woodlands they had depended on for food, fuel and shelter. Talk about 1066 and all that....

In Episode 3 of Tramping's Return to My Trees podcast, I tramp from Caerleon to the outskirts of Newport exploring the Roman legacy and how the legend of King Arthur became so closely associated with this part of South Wales. #walking #wales #history

At a loose end this Sunday? Why not relax into the second episode of the Tramping Return To My Trees podcast? This one is about the arrival of the Romans in #Wales...and that was very bad news for the Druids of the #Silures.

Here is episode 1 of the podcast version of Return to My Trees. I start my walk in Wentwood Forest in South #Wales and consider the early history of trees in Wales and the power of the Druids who once lived in this forest. @calonbooks.bsky.social #visitwales

This autumn, I turned my book Return to My Trees into a podcast where I revisit some of the routes I walked through Wales exploring our broken relationship to nature and how we can rebuild it. Here's the introductory episode.
