Interested in how society can invest in nature through its commitment to trees and woodlands? I'll be chatting about afforestation, rewilding, partnerships with farmers and much more at the @othervoiceslive.bsky.social in Aberteifi/Cardigan this weekend.

Having travelled to and spent time with local people from Sarayaku some 25 years ago, the principle of a living intelligent forest really resonates.
José Gualinga talked with ICN about his people's Living Forest Declaration, an explanation of how Sarayaku people have always understood their Amazonian territory: as a living, intelligent forest—not a collection of resources for humans to exploit

Stuck for something to do this evening? Why not pop down to Rhiwbina library in #Cardiff where I'll be chatting about Seascape and the many ways that the sea has shaped the lives of the people of #Wales...and continues to do so.

My take on the decision by Kemi Badenoch to end the fight against the climate crisis and torpedo the U.K. economy and a great critique by @fionaharvey.bsky.social of the falsehoods set out in the Tory press release. This action by Badenoch is utterly shameful.
As Tories vow to scrap ‘failed targets’, how do their climate claims stack up?
We fact check Kemi Badenoch and her party after she promised to repeal Climate Change Act if they win power

And if you're in Aberteifi for the excellent Other Voices festival at the end of October, why not pop along to the Clebran spoken work section where I'll be chatting about the Welsh woodlands and why they are crucial to our connection to nature.

On the surface, this seems completely unworkable. But it's real aim is to further stoke anti-immigrant heat and hatred. And it would devastate teaching, the NHS and thousands of families who are in the UK legally. Disgusting.

In Seascape, I describe why Fairbourne will one day be surrendered to the sea because the cost of defending it will be far greater than any government - UK or Welsh - can ever justify. This article suggesting the situation has changed feels a little misleading.

Just driven back from the Eurotunnel to Wales and every bridge in Kent and Surrey had a Union Jack and St. George flag on it. It would be nice to think it was celebrating something inclusive for all the UK...but really, it's just petty racism. Don't bring that shit to Wales.
