Tricky question. SDs can cut off their energy BUT there are certain locations AND items that can act as reservoirs of SD energy (think: batteries). Tapping into these items would supply a Master with Elemental Powers even if no fresh energy were flowing from the SDs... until that reservoir is empty.

Unless they've had the climber suits for a long time. You assume that every time a new suit makes it's first appearance on the show that the suits are brand new? But what if they have several different suits saved up in the closet, and only bring them out for certain occasions, like photo calls?

The City of Temples had travelled from realm to realm depending on when the current Tournament of the Sources was being held. After the Merge, that was no longer necessary.
