Things I just have to get out.
Wait, but isn’t everybody in the Simpsons an essentially good, if flawed person?

Jealous!

Interesting, especially since I had literally forgotten about it until your post! Looking through the Wikipedia article on it, I guess I can see why it wasn’t picked up much since it doesn’t seem to fit into any kind of narrative.

Are there any books you can recommend about the construction of the whole Christmas “tradition?”

Love it! Gonna blast Mahler at the Christmas party now!

Wait, sorry, can you spell it out for those of us who are slow?

Oh weird - just noticed that Wikipedia lists the track lengths as 6:41, which is also matched by Bandcamp. For some reason my Plex app shows it at 6:42 though…

I don’t know if this can count as actual counterpoint to musicologists or whatever, but listening to this album feels like the closest approximation to listening to Bach outside of “classical” music.

I’m amazed at the counterpoint between the guitars and bass. And I mean counterpoint like in the literal Baroque sense.

Oh my god I also had no idea that wasn’t his real name!

Nice! Weinberg 21 was a revelation for me, and really got me hooked on Weinberg. Love the last movement especially - reminds me of the “ewig, ewig” from das lied von der erde, but produces the opposite feeling - one of uneasiness and a lack of closure.

Last thing I’ll say is that I love the band logo on the album cover. Absolutely indecipherable, like all good logos should be.

And then how the riff constantly transforms throughout the piece so subtly that you almost don’t notice it - but try to hum along and you’ll see what I mean.
December 1, 2025 at 9:45 PM
And I can’t get over the main riff from the title track - when it hits 4 minutes into the song it feels like all that metal is supposed to be - an absolute “fuck yeah!” moment like a grim reaper riding a spectral horse out of a flaming chasm in the earth.

Is the prompt available somewhere? I haven’t been able to find it.

Great take! I really didn’t understand why that movie got such a bad rap!

Asking for real FWIW. I’m open to the idea that he’s actually a leftist, and I agree that people are trying to will him into being a groyper, but I think the Occam’s razor explanation is that he has a grab-bag of weird beliefs and is terminally online, similar to other recent shooters.

I mean, are there recent examples of people using Bella Ciao as an actual anti-fascist anthem? Seems to me like it’s something from a game and not sure it points towards any particular set of politics beyond “online.”

and channel it into a focus on the long structures and droney landscapes -making it one of the only drone records you can easily work out to.
