I’ve been under a rock. So hadn’t enjoyed Graceland or The Postal Service. I think my highlight was probably exploring the rest of Pearl Jam though. I like a lot of things but Grunge is probably my home.

It’s been a cool journey, I’ve joined in with a fair amount and discovered some new favourites. Thanks for sharing.

Completely agree that there should be more places to find music recommendations from a human. Reject the algorithm.

Tonight I listened to 13 by Blur.

Usually, so long as you’re on the beaten track the instructions are very often very helpful, if not exactly right. My experience is it’s about as helpful and more forgiving to “stupid” questions as stackoverflow.

I’m not an advocate typically, but there are a few things it’s usually good at.

There’s some amount of FOMO. There’s plenty of things where it’s probably slightly better than a search engine. Most notably when you want a list of instructions for how to make a computer do something. I don’t think it’s nearly as useful or valuable as were told, but it isn’t useless either.

Yes, this. I think it’s why I also quite like RTS. A game that you can “finish” in a sitting.

I’d completely understand it being a private moment too. It’s a mammoth undertaking I expect there will be emotions.

Bulls on Parade is possibly the best song by probably my favourite band. I think probably the weakest of their albums but the bangers bang. “Roll Right, Roll Call!”

I tried tidal. It was ok, but didn’t have the Music education material we needed (and is on Spotify) and doesn’t work on Alexa in the UK.

I agree with you that the further from Origin of symmetry you get the sillier and less interesting I find muse, but every now and again I return to the first 4 albums and they’re brilliant. Good blog, and thanks for the nudge to listen to oos again.

I know this question was nearly a year ago, but I think Harmonies might be worth a look.

My favourite Radiohead album moves around between 4. I can’t decide between The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A or In Rainbows. HTTT is next and then Amnesiac. I’d be interested to hear why you think Amnesiac is your favourite.

This likely only works if we get a sensible electoral system that supports a representative Commons. The “landslide” last summer was because the right vote was split.

I’m keen Sultana/Corbyn and politicians on the left have a voice and a home, but not if it means we get a Tory/Reform govt.

Though I guess I need to know the question to know what 100% right is, so maybe the original point stands. Humans are rubbish.

This is where I want AI. If I could trust an AI tool to get this 100% right (and tell me when it didn’t know) I’d be happy. I haven’t seen enough evidence that I don’t have to check its work, at which point I’d be not that much better than doing it by hand.

Should say nearly. Neatly comes next.
