@nottopgearrh.swifties.social are you planning a listen along for album 1000? I assume you know what it is.

My first little guys since I was a teenager. I’ve had so much fun painting them up.

I still haven’t managed to read what the BBC “did wrong” regarding Panorama. Is there an unbiased view of what editing happened?

Hades 2. Got to the top of the hill. The game is really fun, the plot makes no sense to me. I like the chaos stone challenges.

I think I’m going to go back to Hades and remind myself how different things are. Mel is cool, but I miss Zag.

I wonder how badly the wheels come off for the #eagles. Winning is a great healer, what happens if you lose?

4-1 I don’t think we’ve played a (really) bad team yet. But today was disappointing.

Enjoying Hades 2. I think the game is neat, really enjoying figuring out new boons and weapons. I am less interested in what happens between runs.
Quite enjoying farming for the giant cauldron.

I got to the House of Hades after 1 short trip to the surface. The act 3 boss is kicking my butt.

Hades 2. Great to be back. Feels like I’m going to be playing for a while. Supergiant are amazing.

I’ve seen 3 blockbusters at the cinema this summer and really enjoyed all 3. I’m sad the cinema is so empty. Superman was amazing. Jurassic Park and Fantastic 4 were both really good and fun.

Superman was great. But there wasn’t enough Clark Kent. Believe the hype, Mr Gunn is good at this.

Important* piano updates. I can neatly play the carousel song with the syncopation. Currently feeling pretty good about the world.

*may not actually be important.

I enjoyed this talk by @scott.hanselman.com tech can be a great tool. But we need to be vigilant and use it for good, lest it enslave us (and others).

Would have liked the questions posed to be answered more fully. Definitely worth thinking about.

I’m failing at piano. I can’t get my left hand to play on the beat and my right hand to play a syncopated rhythm. I’ll get there, and what I’m trying to play is pretty easy. But right now, I can’t do it.

Maybe today was better than yesterday and tomorrow will likely be better than today.

I’m (somewhat ponderously) re-reading the discworld.

In 1997 Pratchett (via the bursar) said
“Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time”

He’s still very much right.

I love Terry Pratchett.

Doctor Who. Haven’t watched 2.2 yet. Looks kind of cool. 2.3 was super, really tense future horror. 2.4 was pretty good. I can do without UNIT, and I don’t like Doctor as RTDs mouthpiece, but I loved Ruby and generally thought it was cool and creepy and that there was a good pay off.

Sinners was superb. I thought the pacing was perfect and thought it was absolutely beautiful. I really enjoyed the music.

Dr Who.
I was disappointed. I thought the Doctor was too much. I hated the careful re-exposition. I thought Belinda was probably ok, cautiously optimistic.

Reminding myself that I hated the start of last season too.

This week my wife and youngest are away on a violin residential. I’ve decided my eldest and I are watching the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. Vol 1 was a blast, such good fun.

Politics. Sadly the “they’re all the same” argument is becoming harder to argue with. “They’re all the same, so Farage” is still the worst take though. We need better from our politics not Trump wannabes.
#Labour please do something to make the lives of ordinary people (not just workers) better.

Mickey 17 was cool. It has a bit of a Starship Troopers aesthetic. Mark Ruffalo’s pantomime villain was almost too much, but I think he just pulled it off. Lots of neat ideas.

In London we have TfL and a bus for me and my son is £1.75. In the midlands a bus for me and my son is more than £5. Hooray capitalism.

So happy for the Eagles. Felt like the team were really playing for each other. From a very sleepy fan in the middle of England. That was fun to stay up for. See you again next year.

Yesterday we went to the Leamington Symphonia’s Young Soloist Concert. All three of the players were sensational. I think there’s a real chance that in 10 years the violinist will be a superstar. He is 14 and I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone play like that.
