Clearly Blackpool! That's a long way to travel for a faded Northern English seaside town...

Thinking about Ornette Coleman playing Guitar Hero, and how I have no idea what the story behind the picture is

He's very much not impressed with the backyard pool. So far it's a giant drinking water bowl and ball retrieval obstacle, but he won't step a paw in there! Strange, as he like to paddle in rivers and ponds.

New face!
3D print file by @maimface.bsky.social , painted in acrylics by me.
I wanted a lighter, easier to wear otter to wear around at events, but also as performing wear if I get myself together enough to apply for some music slots at things.

Looking at colourful socks and realising these would just be Germany, seen over the top of my boots.

Oh, the sense of relief when your DROP command actually works. Did not want him eating the crispy frog that had been dessicating for a couple of weeks on the pavement up the street!

Moon Egg (2016) by Yama Warashi
I caught this lot quite unplanned at a festival. They're a UK-based band but their singer/composer is Japanese and draws a lot on folk melodies. The band behind her are eclectic and lightly groggy, and songs about the moon are always a winner.

Chou Pahrot Live (1979)
A recent discovery, but an old band. Scottish art-rock-folk-prog, with wilfully dumb lyrics that sound exactly like hairy shouty men from Paisley. How this worked in no-nonsense Glasgow pubs in the late 70s I don't know, but apparently they had a dogged local following.

The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter (1968) by The Incredible String Band
More silly hippies, but Scottish ones this time. It's a wide-eyed mishmash of mysticism and whimsy, and feels like they're not quite living in our world. A year or so later they got Scientology and it just wasn't the same again.

A River Ain't Too Much To Love (2005) by Smog.
Another very sparse feeling record, wistful in the extreme. Little bare 3 or 4 note guitar chords that often avoid the root in the bass, and a warm, melliflous voice.

In a Silent Way (1969) by Miles Davis
Some of Miles' electric period was quite full-on, but this one has something different. It's a large band (3 keyboards at times), but everyone is playing in a really understated way, with a woozy, floating feel.

Moon Mountain of the Ford's (2003) by Frog Pocket
Mr Pocket is an old pal, and I danced to these tunes at wee festivals many times. All-over-the-place electronica with folky touches.

Arx Pilosa (2016) by Bob Drake
I had to get a furry artist in there, but also, this is another one I keep going back to. Very concise but densely packed little songs, with way more ideas than ought to fit into that length of music. Also has badgers, unusual mustelids and strange little pals
