Despite the fact that ISIS still get most media coverage, Taliban, Al Qaeda and HTS each hold much more land and are more powerful than ISIS.
The place ISIS excel, however, is media, and so they can still portray that they are most powerful.

Looking around social media it seems the majority of Jihadists are supportive of the rebel advance on Aleppo, regardless if they are HTS supporters or not. With the exception of ISIS supporters who do not seem very happy about the whole thing.

Seems like most countries are facing a surge in support for the far right. In most cases, they will not take power, but their mere presence is forcing governments to take more right-wing stances in an effort to win support from them.

Seems like most countries are facing a surge in support for the far right. In most cases, they will not take power, but their mere presence is forcing governments to take more right-wing stances in an effort to win support from them.
Russia is very overstretched and the Russian military isn't as strong as Putins ego.
If confirmed the death of Russians in today's HTS offensive, it would be another theater with Russian casualties in just a week. Besides Ukraine, al-Qaeda succeeded in killing six Russian MOD-operated mercenaries in Mali, now rumors (still rumors!) of Syria. Hard times.

Initially reports said it was in retaliation for regime raids, but I have since seen several claims that this has been in the planning for at least a year.
New flare up in northwestern Syria, including a rebel offensive to grab some territory in what is said to be retaliation for regime bombing etc. Seems small in scale, but noteworthy just because it’s so rare to see the rebels on the offensive at all these days. www.enabbaladi.net/726004/%D9%8...
