USDA’s filings from BEFORE the shutdown show Republicans raided the SNAP emergency fund. Essentially they stole the money till the account was empty. They didn’t want to admit they stole it so are fighting to not have to pay.
The emergency account is likely overdrawn now.

I’ve never see a pre-market read like this.
This would have to rival Lehman Brothers bankruptcy on the scale of destruction we’re talking about from the Great Recession fires from 07.
There’s systemic risk from the government being destroyed but this self inflicted destruction strains imagination.

We’re hitting a new level in the sell-off when he announces he’s taking tariffs off Mexico and the market goes down even MORE.
They aren’t believing his bullshit and the people who gave him the benefit of the doubt that he’s trying to use this as a negotiating tactic are giving up and selling.
