2. #CDC says #flu activity is picking up a bit in kids. Intergenerational mixing at Thanksgiving could knock transmission up a notch. Another pediatric flu death from last season was reported, a death that occurred in May. The 2023-24 pediatric death toll was 205. Awful. www.cdc.gov/fluview/surv...

The first known case of a more severe strain of mpox in the United States was confirmed in California today according to the CDC.
The risk of clade I mpox to the public remains low.
Comforting since we could have Captain Brain Worms at the helm soon.
