Zelda likes Dina's big, plush dog bed so much, so we got another, smaller one just like it. As you can see, it is working out just as we'd hoped.

Unfortunately, my beloved sibling and housemate Jess absolutely LOVES chili. And in this one regard we are painfully incompatible as human beings. I'll eat it when they make it, because I'm not an asshole, but it's like...

Yesterday was Black Cat Appreciation Day and I forgot to post pictures of my son.

(I could not get him to be still for even a moment. He was very aggressive doing his "pets dance" at me, so they are all a little blurry.)

Moxie won't eat.

Usually, in my experience with older cats, that's the beginning of the end, if not the end itself.

She has a vet appointment Tuesday, and we'll see what they say.

This summer has been such a horrible, busy, stressful slog. I'm so fucking tired.

Anyway, here's Kevin. Reason enough to keep on living.

Zelda finally had her spay and I brought her home today.

There's something special about finding a tiny, half-starved predator outside and feeding her and earning her trust to the point where she wants to lay on you to keep her warm and safe when she's recovering from a surgery.

She is the most precious baby 😭💖

I have contacted the animal shelter and explained the situation with Zelda, including a photo of her incision-free belly (see below for cute reasons) and they agree a mistake was made and will spay her free of charge. Unfortunately, their earliest appointment is July 23rd

Zelda sounds ASMR

Zelda is getting along GREAT with Dina, btw.

(Video alt text: A tiny brown tabby with white on her chest, belly, & paws is rolling on the floor next to a German shepherd dog who is wearing a red bandana around her neck. The dog is laying placidly as the cat rolls and bats playfully at her muzzle.)

Zelda is exploring the house and got up on top of the bookshelf.

(Gibson had to go check it out after she left to make sure she didn't mess up the vibes)

Tentatively, new kitty's name is Zelda
June 22, 2025 at 5:09 PM
I was looking into getting something like this, but fucksake they're expensive and 1: I cannot afford to get even one of them, let alone 4 (one for each cat). 2: I'm not even sure it would work how I want it to. It might scare them too much to eat from it.

It's her!! It's 100% her and I am crying and filling out adoption paperwork. She recognized me and I had to bring her home 😭😭😭😭

Friends, I am about 85% sure I have found Miss Mama listed for adoption at the local shelter
